Janet Jensen is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. She has a B.S. in biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University.
She went to the University of Missouri School of Journalism to pursue a Masters in journalism.
After several internships at newspapers spanning the country Jensen joined the News Tribune in 1996. One of Jensen’s primary focuses while at the TNT has been coverage of Tacoma's ethnically diverse communities. She has traveled to the Philippines, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka for The News Tribune.
